CHSA High Score Award Divisions for 2016
Schooling Hunter: Open to horses and ponies ridden by adults. Cross entering is permitted. Fences 2’6” and 2'9". No jog.
Open Hunter : Open to horses. Cross entering is permitted. Fences 3' and 3'3".
Green Hunter: Limited to horses in their first or second year of showing over fences at 2’9” in any show connected with an annual high score award, including Equitation classes. First year horses to jump 2'9”. Second year horses to jump 3'.
Junior/Amateur Schooling: Open to all horses ridden by a Junior or an Amateur. Fences 2'6" and 2'9". No jog.
Children's Hunter: Open to horses ridden by a Junior exhibitor. Fences 2'9", 3' and 3’3”.
Adult Amateur Hunter: Open to horses ridden by an Amateur exhibitor who is no longer eligible to compete as a Junior. Leased horses are permitted. Fences 2'9", 3' and 3’3”.
Special Hunter: Open to all horse/pony and rider combinations. Adults may ride ponies. Trotting permitted. Fences 2' and 2'6". No jog.
Children/Adult Amateur Hunter: Open to horses ridden by a Junior or an Amateur. Riders may only cross enter into Pleasure or Special Hunter. Fences 2' & 2'6". No jog
Adult Hunter Pleasure Horse: Open to horses ridden by adults only. One class to be "walk and go-as-you-please". Two classes to be "walk, trot, canter". Judged on performance, soundness and manners. No martingales.
Junior Hunter Pleasure Horse: Open to horses ridden by juniors only. Classes as above. No cross entering between Adult and Junior.
Thoroughbred Hunter: Follows VHSA specifications. Horses must be registered or eligible to be registered with The Jockey Club. Fences at 2’6” and 2'9".
Green Pony Hunter: Limited to pony hunters who have not shown at regulation heights in any show connected with a high score award prior to December 1, 2015. Small to jump 2’, medium to jump 2'3”, large to jump 2'6".
Small/Medium Pony Hunter: Open to small ponies not exceeding 12.2 hands and medium ponies over 12.2 but not exceeding 13.2 hands. Small ponies to jump 2'. Medium ponies to jump 2'3".
Large Pony Hunter: Open to pony hunters over 13.2 but not exceeding 14.2 hands. Fences 2'6" and 2'9".
Children's Pony Hunter: Open to pony hunters ridden by a Junior. Riders may only cross enter into Pleasure or Special Hunter, but not regular pony divisions or equitation classes. Fences 2' and 2’6”. No jog.

CHSA/VHSA Associate Adult Equitation: Open to Amateur Senior members on horses. A minimum of 1/4 of the class will return for additional testing on the flat. Fences 2'9" or 3'.
CHSA/VHSA Associate Junior Equitation: Open to Junior members on horses. A minimum of 1/4 of the class will return for additional testing on the flat. Cross entering into the Pony Equitation class is not permitted. Fences 2'9" or 3'.
CHSA/VHSA Associate Pony Equitation: Open to Juniors on ponies. A minimum of 1/4 of the class will return for additional testing on the flat. Cross entering into the Junior Equitation class is not permitted. Fences S 2' - M 2'3" - L 2'6" or 2'9"
Children's Pony Equitation: Open to Juniors on ponies. Riders may only cross enter into Pleasure or Special Hunter but not regular pony divisions or equitation classes. Fences 2' and 2’6”.
Children's/Adult Amateur Equitation: Open to Junior and Amateur riders on horses. Riders may only cross enter into Pleasure, Special Hunter, and Children's/Amateur Divisions where the fences do not exceed 2'6". Fences 2' and 2'6".
CHSA Short Stirrup: Open to Junior members who have not reached their 13th birthday as of December 1, 2015. To be judged as an equitation division. The Champion and Reserve Champion rider must have competed in at least one over fences class. The division will consist of four classes: One class as a walk, trot, two classes over four fences at 18" and one class as a walk, trot and canter. The rider may cross enter into Pleasure only. The horse/pony may cross enter.
CHSA/VHSA Short Stirrup Hunter: Open to Juniors who have not reached their 13th birthday as of December 1, 2015. Judged as a hunter division. Riders my cross enter into Pleasure only. Fences 18'.
